Angel's Wish
This is the last song Steven Curtis Chapman wrote in the album "All Things New". I love this song, it tells how great GRACE is, it's something we can't even fathom, for even angels long to look unto it. Grace is so wonderuful! God is so wonderful!
"I've had a little idea floating in my head for a long time. I have always been intrigued by the verse in the Bible that talks about how we know things that angels long to look into, that we have access to knowledge or experience that angels don't have access to, even though they have access that we don't as heavenly beings. So finally, I sat down in a moment of inspiration at the piano and wrote this song. I'm really glad I did - it's one of the most unique songs on the record. It will be a fun song to perform live, just one of those moments where I can sit at the piano and take it to a different place."

Angels Wish
Was God smiling
When He spoke the words
That made the world
And did he cry about the flood
And what does God's voice sound like
When He sings, when He's angry
These are just a few things
That the angels have on me
[Chorus:]
Well, I can't fly
At least not yet
I've got no halo on my head
And I can't even start to picture Heaven's beauty
But I've been shown the Savior's love
The grace of God has raised me up
To show me things the angels long to look into
And I know things
The Angels only wish they knew
I have seen the dark and desperate place
Where sin will take you
I've felt loneliness and shame
And I have watched the blinding light of grace
Come breaking through with a sweetness
Only tasted by the forgiven and redeemed
[Chorus:]
Well, I can't fly
At least not yet
I've got no halo on my head
And I can't even start to picture Heaven's beauty
But I've been shown the Savior's love
The grace of God has raised me up
To show me things the angels long to look into
And I know things
The Angels only wish they knew
And someday I'll sit down with my angel friends
Up in Heaven
They'll tell me about creation
And I'll tell them a story of grace
[Chorus:]
At least not yet
I've got no halo on my head
And I can't even start to picture Heaven's beauty
But I've been shown the Savior's love
The grace of God has raised me up
To show me things the angels long to look into
And I know things
The Angels only wish they knew
