An Adventure

We’re all catching our breath, and it’s been a long time since most of us had jogged on a long and stiff road. But at long last we reach our destination, we stride and jog for an hour and finally we're here, still surrounded with mountains, we can see the town below with houses like small dots of different colors. We climbed a stair made for the traveler so that we can see more clearly below. I’m glad that it was preserved, maybe for the reason that there were few people who reach this place.

My heart was rising from within me, how I love to see mountains, for from there mountains were rising in north, green unharmed mountains and far behind were bluish mountains filled with mist and fogs. The Laguna Lake is filled with fishponds that seems like a long line sketch in a wide blue canvass. “How I love times like this, the creation speaks of the glory of the Lord.” I said to myself.

Then as the other C.A. (Ate Dheng, Ate Lalaine, Ate Lhen, Erwin, Osang and Royce) chat for a time, I tried to discover the place as I stride where my feet brought me, ate Dheng told me in tagalog “Mhackee kung san san ka lumalabas.” I went down on a verdant of grass rising taller than me. Then I found a high brown rocky slopes, my heart seems to take the challenge. Without delaying I climbed up, clinging on the huge rocks. My heart pounds when the soil I stepped on slides. Still I continued to reach the peak but not for long, the rocky wall became rigid. "Surely I'm not a climber", I said to myslelf and laughed, I retreated down with brown clays on my shoes.

I guess the love of the nature or the love of adventure was set in the hearts of men. We love risk in some kind of a way. For we are created in the image of an adventurous God, He who created the mountains, the forest, the woods, and the wild, set it deeply in our hearts. If we meditate on it, we will find something important. We are created with an adventurous heart because life is a great adventure. It’s the way we look on things that made it hard, that made it seems impossible. Take it as a challenge, as a task given to you by your master, the one who sent you on a special mission.

This journal I write happened a few months ago, but it teaches me something. The road ahead is still long, winding, stiff, and hard… How do you view it?
