It’s been a week or so. I bought my new laptop, a TOSHIBA Intel Core Duo, 1.8 GHz, 2 GB memory, 160 GB hard drive. Plus an extra 160 GB external drive for backup purposes and a wireless router so I can have internet access all over our house. Well, so much for computer specs, this is not a site for computers, just to give you a brief idea that it surely cost me an arm and a leg! All in all it’s worth 43k something, I think? The moment the sales rep gave me the total amount, I instantly called God. Lol, no kidding, I silently whispered “God, I will surely have to tighten my belt for that.” I didn’t have that amount that time, not even close. All I had saved during 6 months of work is 18k; I have no choice but to go for an instalment. Well, it’s 0% interest, but the consequence is I have to pay more or less 4k a month. Wow, that’s a big money every month. And why am I buying a laptop? Do I really need it? I ask myself. The answer is yes, my old old PC crashed (It is a 5 years old Pentium 4). The motherboard even destroyed my video card and the saddest part is the hard drive. I have all my files in there! Including the White Warrior and the Serpent's Heart manuscript. The old neriwonda site got expired so it means that I have to rewrite everything. Although I have a hard copy, still, it's a tiring work to type it all over again. It's 283 pages back to back.
So there was I ready to go for my only choice, to go for an instalment when my mobile vibrated, and it’s my mom. He asked me where am I and I quickly told her I’m going to buy a laptop. “How much?” she said. “Just the laptop itself it worth 36,990, without any upgrade. I’ll go for an instalment.” I replied. And here goes the miracle, she quickly said “I’ll send you 30k, just include the money you saved and pay it cash.” I went on shouting in my mind “WOW God!”
An hour later, riding on my auntie’s van on the way home; my heart was full of joy. My God turned 40k to 10k. I was reminded of Malachi 3. I assumed it’s quite familiar on Christians who are reading this. It’s a well-known verse mostly used in offertory. Malachi 3:10-11 says “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pest from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the Lord Almighty.
What quickly got my attention is in verse 11 where it says “I will prevent pest from devouring your crops.” In other words I will keep satan away from stealing. I’ve been thinking, and meditate on it, and I realized that God has prevented the enemy from devouring my blessings a lot of times. And sometimes I’m not even aware of it. And this time it really makes sense.
Are we giving our tithes to God?
Have you wonder why sometimes you seemed to earn a lot of money but it’s still not enough? And you look on person who seemed poor or he/she is earning money not as big as you, yet that person have more than enough? Well, if that’s the case we have to check our giving.
Do you know that we’re robbing ourselves when we don’t give our tithes to God? (I’m referring to the Christians here) It’s a law that when you give God, he will bring it back much more. We can’t out give God. He is a generous God, and we’re preventing His hand to bless us when we don’t give our tithes to Him. It’s not an excuse whether you’re just a student, or you’re earning a little, or you’re providing for your parents or wife, etc… I know someone in our church who give 10 pesos as her tithes, and I admire her. There is also a little child who give 5 pesos every Sunday as her offering; it’s from her 50 pesos baon every week. And I am blessed to see these persons, old and young giving what is for God.
And it’s not just on financial blessings that God will prevent the thief.
God isn’t finish yet, so I recheck back my crashed hard drive. I do some research on restoring crashed hard disk; I found a software and download it. It didn’t worked and I didn’t restore my files except for these two files.
Know what files are those?
The WHITE WARRIOR and the SEPENT’S HEART. Wow! I thought I have to rewrite them all specially the WHITE WARRIOR which took me a year and a couple of months to finish.
God prevents the devourer, if we give our money, our time, our lives to HIM. Test Him, and he will turn your 40k’s to 10k’s.
